Abstract:
The system reveals scientific facts showing that the heart rhythm in an organism is formed by the hierarchy of mechanisms including brain and intracardiac levels. In an organism the heart rhythm is formed in brain signals of which get to the heart along the vagus nerves in the form of bursts of impulses. The heart reproduces the rhythm of theses signals. Under such conditions the sinoatrial node acts as a latent pacemaker. The integration of two levels of rhythmogenesis provides reliability and functional perfection of the cardiac rhythm generation system. The central generator provides the heart’s adaptive reactions under normal conditions. The intracardiac generator assures the pump function of the heart when the central nervous system is in the stage of deep inhibition.

Reader Comment: [Geiger, Franz M] in 2006

this site appears to be a facebook-type version of the ISI science citation index. while the latter costs money, most institutions pay for the service through their libraries. in this scientist's opinion, authoratory, while free, is a great disservice to the scientific community as it gives incomplete summaries of what scientists are working on, and there is no clear indication on how the information posted on this site was assembled. this scientist suggests taking the numbers posted here with three grains of salt, they are merely a starting point for obtaining background information on individuals.

Reader Question: [Jair, Kam-Wing] in 2002

My MSc project involves the study of the methylation status of a few CpG islands among different individuals. The technique that is most appropriate for my study is enzymatic regional methylation assay (ERMA) since I am only interested in getting the overall methylation density as a percentage (I dont want to analyse each and every CpG site in the islands). However, I dont want to work with radioactivity. Is there a way that I can modify the protocol to substitute the radioactivity with fluorescence? If not is there another similar technique that will give me the same answer but does not involve radiocativity?

Thanks

This person supposedly is an expert in the medical field of Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis, having written articles on it.

However, an extensive search of Cleveland Clinic sources, medical societies and periodicals, and other places reveals no qualification in this specialty! Accordingly, I would not credit any article or other writing of Susamma Abraham, M.D.

From personal experience, this person is an uncaring physician in an emergency room at the Cleveland Clinic (a hospital in Cleveland, Ohio). She appears to have no special expertise or background in that field either.
